Fabu Moses is a physician and public health professional currently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Informatics while working as a Research Assistant at Nova Southeastern University. She brings a unique blend of clinical experience, research acumen, and digital health leadership to her work at the intersection of data governance, artificial intelligence governance, and health systems strengthening.
Dr. Moses began her medical career in Guyana, South America, where she served as Doctor-in-Charge at a district hospital in the Amazon jungle. Her commitment to equitable care and public service led her to work as National Coordinator for Neglected Tropical Diseases—managing a US$2 million program with mobilization of 1000+ health workers annually. She subsequently joined the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as a National Malaria Consultant, where she contributed to strengthening surveillance systems, improving data quality, and supporting the national rollout of DHIS2 for malaria surveillance reporting. She has also collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Pan American Center for Foot and Mouth Disease (PANAFTOSA), Codex Alimentarius, USAID and multiple national stakeholders to enhance health programs in the region.
Her experience during the COVID-19 pandemic—supporting surveillance and producing the national COVID-19 bulletin—sparked a deeper interest in digital transformation, health data governance, and informatics ethics. This inspired her to pursue advanced studies in health informatics, focusing on how responsible data use and technology can strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries.
Her current academic work and pursuits are qualitative and quantitive research, process improvement (Lean Six Sigma green belt), cloud computing professional, AI governance professional, and the evolving landscape of infoveillance and infodemiology. She is also a developing scholar in the emerging field of cybersecurity in health, she wrote her dissertation examining its role in cross-border health data sharing.
